• Education: no specific education, they come from all different backgrounds, for example acting, writing, film editing, and business management; degree in arts management and in managing nonprofit organizations if there is no experience in the video production industry.

 Coordinates different parts of production, such as audio work, scenes, music, timing, camera work, and script writing.

News Anchor
• Education: bachelor's degree in journalism or mass communications

• Responsibilities:
 Present news stories
 Introduce videotaped news or live transmissions from on-the-scene reporters
• Attractive Aspects: on television screen
• Negative Aspects: under pressure to meet deadlines, unusual work hours

Video Tape Operator

• Responsibilities:
 operate tape recording equipment
 make tape copies, such as, blank tapes, and non-broadcast tapes,

• Negative Aspects: Even though chances are low, they can get injured while present at the scene.

Runner
• Education: no specific requirements; need to show understanding of the industry, practical skills, and experience
• Annual Income: $23,000
• Responsibilities:
 answering telephones
 filing paperwork and data entry
 arranging lunches, dinners, meetings, and transportation
 keep sets clean
 photocopying and handling general administrative work
• Attractive Aspects: gain experience, work in mostly all the parts of the industry
• Negative Aspects: most people don’t see the Runner as a part of the industry, minor job, most junior role


Part 3

Reporter

1. Why would you be a good fit for this career?
I would be good for this career because I’m interested in careers that involve traveling and investigating. This career includes investigation important events.

2. What aspect of this career is most attractive to you?
Though the work hours may be irregular, this career would keep me focus. Investigation is one thing that catches my eye. I have always seen myself in an action filled career and I believe that being a reporter will open me up to many adventures.

3. Which job responsibilities are you most looking forward to in this career?
I would be looking forward to investigating and researching on the latest news. I also look forward to reporting live at the scene. It seems really exhilarating.

4. Which job responsibilities could you do without in this career?
One critical aspect of this career is deadlines. One job of this career is to write the story. This story has to be written on time or else there will be a great delay. Though that may be a struggle for me, I would be able to get overcome this problem.

5. What aspect of your personality would be beneficial to this career?
My sense of adventure would benefit this career. My determination will also help this career.
